Getting back in the groove

I've been wanting to make something for awhile now but I had to focus and take care of some business first. Today was the first time I actually had the chance to go downstairs to my craft room and play. The card is a Sizzix XL die called flower card, flourish. It can be used either vertically or horizontally. And I finally used the labels 3 nesties that I had sitting on my counter for weeks. I stamped the label die background using Hero Arts dots and flowers stamp and used the cute chinese girl stamp for the main image. The colors for the card was taken off of this pitcher that I found at the Salvation Army last year. I know, I cut off part of the pitcher but you can still see the colors from the pitcher. Here's a photo that I took of my husband last week while we were away. I love the building in the background and how it's not a posed photo. I just kept clicking away as we walked around the shops.
Supplies:
Sizzix XL die flower card-flourish, Spellbinders labels 3 nesties, Hero Arts chinese dolls stamp, dots and flowers background stamp and little note set, Hero Arts gemstones, swiss dots embossing folder, Tsukineko Versafine black ink, Memento pens in rose bud and dandelion.
Well, have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!!!

Almost summer

I love the new Sizzix Hello Kitty dies that just arrived in the store last week. This one reminds me of my beach days and all the summers that I spent laying in the sun trying to get a nice tan.I made this card in between cleaning up my craft room today. I could not believe how much stuff I actually cleaned out. Still have lots more to go. The problem is, I get deliveries everyday from UPS and everyday I'm trying to fit another big box in my craft room.

Supplies:

Sizzix Hello Kitty with beach towel, birthday #2 embossing folder, Hero Arts card, Hero Arts acetate, Sizzix flower dies and Spellbinders label one nesties.

Thank you all so much for the kind comments you left me on my previous post. I'm taking it one day at a time. I really miss my dad so much but I know he is in a better place.

My dad

I never thought the day would come so soon, without even knowing that this would be the last time I get to see my dad. But he is in peace now and very happy where he is. I spent the weekend with him not knowing it would be the last...ever....I just wanted to share this because I truly believe that life is really too short and you never know what tomorrow will be. And right now although I am feeling very sad, I am also happy for him that I don't have to see him suffering anymore.
You will probably think that I am nuts for posting this, but for me it is good therapy. I made this
yesterday for a Mother's Day gift.
The box is the Sizzix french fry box which I put 2 together and cut an oval out with a nestabilities petite oval die.
Stamps are all Dandelion Designs. I did cut the balloons off the bear.
And here is the top view of the boxes put together. Sorry the photo is kind of blurry but I've been an emotional roller coaster all day.
I may be taking a little break for now since I probably need it.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great Mother's Day weekend!!!

Upper crest

I've been wanting this punch for awhile now and I finally bought one from my lss. I was all set to order it online since I rarely see these punches in any of the stores here on the island. And after I bought it, it sat on my shelf for couple months (unused). Do you ever do that too??? So on Saturday I took it out of its packaging and used it on this card.I was thinking about my mom since Mother's Day is coming up this weekend and made this card. Although I won't be able to give it to her, it felt good just thinking of her and making it.After I punched that upper crest border out, I glittered it with Limeade Doodlebug glitter. This kitty die is a deco strip die from Sizzix and the embossed thank you is from the thank you set embossing folders.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!!

Springy kitty and a rak

Last week as I was visiting some crafty blogs, I stopped over at Jean's blog to see if she posted anything new. I love how she made these gift card holders out of a card she had for a make & take last year. And to my surprise, one of them was really for me! Thanks so much Jean!!! So sweet of you.On Thursday, the store received a bunch of new Sizzix embossing folders and of course, I really needed to get the Hello Kitty spring set. This set is so cute! I hand cut out all the embossed pieces and layered them to give it a dimesional look. I dressed her up with some stickles glitter glue and pearl stones.
And today was such a hot, humid day! I went downstairs to my craft room to make something but came right back upstairs.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!!!
