That 70's rainbow

My husband has a bunch of the Hello Kitty rainbow dies and asked me to make something with it. I think it's cute and I'll probably use it on a scrapbook page for one of our many trips we take. I made the card on Wednesday but didn't get to finish it until last night since I'm working on some other things.I know the orange color on this looks pretty bright but it really isn't. I tried toning it down but when I did that, it made the rest of the card look faded. I really need to learn how to use photoshop. The word "hello" is acutally layered. I cut the hello out in blue and then in orange. You can't really see it unless you look real close.

I love playing with this butterfly kitty die. It's so cute and I like how you can make the wings pop up.

Supplies:

Sizzix Hello Kitty butterfly sizzlit, Sizzix rainbow sizzlet, Sizzix embossing folder, and Hello Kitty word, phrase deco strip die.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!!!

Scraps from my stash

Gosh, it seems like everytime I use my scraps, the pile doesn't go down. I made a couple cards yesterday using only scraps. I like the idea of making things using up products from your stash. I have stuff I didn't know I had. In fact, I can't find stuff that I thought I had. LOL!I used all the new Hello Kitty embosslits on these cards. And the scallop border die comes in 2 different styles so you get 2 different die cuts from one die.I made each kitty a different color just to see how it would come out. I like how they all have their own look.
Well, thanks for stopping by! I've been having fun playing with all these new dies and using up my stash.

Card swap

Here's the card I made for my swap partner Joy for Teri's card swap. I think it's okay to post it. I made this after we came back from our trip and I wanted to use this new Hello Kitty sizzlit die for her card.

I liked the fact that we could just focus on making a special card to send to our partner.

Supplies: Sizzix Hello Kitty heart sizzlit die, Spellbinder's label one die, Sizzix textured impressions 3 dot folder, Fiskars treading water punch, Sizzix Hello Kitty word phrase deco strip die, cardstock, ribbon and stickles.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a great Monday!!!

Dear Joy

Thank you for such a sweet, cute Hello Kitty card! My jaw dropped when I opened my mail yesterday and this card was in it. Look at all the work Joy did! This was for Teri's card swap and Joy was my swap partner. She made me a shaker card using one of the new Hello Kitty sizzlit

dies. This one is Mimmy who likes to go shopping. I can totally relate to that. LOL! I don't know how she made the shaker part but maybe she has a tutorial on her blog. She even embossed the solid pink part of the card. So cute!!!

And yesterday, I cleaned my storage and craft room area. I've been getting tons of catalogs and samples and I was forced to get the old stuff out so I could put the new things up. It's still a mess but looks much better than it did last week. My poor husband has to make several trips up and down the stairs to dump all the old catalogs and empty boxes.

I picked up a couple of the Hello Kitty embosslits from the store the other day so I made this after all the cleaning I did. I like how the die embosses and cuts at the same time.

I used Coredinations cardstock for her face and sanded it to let the white show through. The pillow box is a Sizzix die. Well, I'm headed to the mall today since I cleaned yesterday. Have a great Sunday!!!

Another quick one

Today was kind of a chilly day. I had my sweater on all day and when I left the house, I had to wear my sweatshirt. Brrr! Anyways, I stopped at Starbucks to grab a hot coffee before heading home. I enjoy drinking my coffee while making cards and stuff.
Here's another quick project I worked on this afternoon. I love this cute butterfly kitty. *Edit* This is not a card, it is a Sizzix envelope die called Kit #4 which I used the movers & shapers window pane die. Sorry I wasn't clear about that.
I dug into my stash of old dies and made this candy holder. I use a lot of scraps from all the make & takes that I have done.

Another photo so you can see how the wings are popped up from the paper.

Supplies:

Hello Kitty butterfly sizzlit die, Kit #4, Movers & Shapers window pane, Frills deco strip die, acetate for the window and of course some M&M's candies.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a great evening!

Hello Kitty's mushrooms

When I first saw the mushroom die, I thought it was so cool that Sizzix finally made one. Reminds me of the 70's. I think this line of Hello Kitty dies has some of the 70's mixed in. I need to make something with the rainbow die that I got too.
Finally got to sit down and make something yesterday in the evening. It took me about half an hour to put this together.
I was rushing because I told my hubby that I was going to cook dinner and it was getting close to that time. Of course, I don't really cook so I got in my car and did a Zippy's chili run. Haha!
Anyways thanks for stopping by today! Have a good one!

Happy V-Day to you!

I can't believe how fast the days are flying by. Today is one of my favorite days of the year. I love Valentine's day and seeing reds and pinks everywhere. My husband is so sweet. I woke up and headed straight to the kitchen (something I do every morning), and he had a musical type card sitting on the counter and of course my mug behind it. In the mug there was a little bag and in the bag was a box. In the box was a pair of gold hoop diamond earrings. So pretty!!! Anyways, thanks hon!!!Here is one of the new pop-up cards that will be released sometime in April. It is made with 3 hearts. The Hello Kitty die is also new and should be in the stores this coming week. It was hard to do a close up of the card since it opens up wide. This is a Hello Kitty Sizzlit die and it actually was quite fast to put together. The flowers are also a Sizzlit die for Hello Kitty.
The Hello Kitty word is a deco strip die which has a border and another phrase on it. Thanks for stopping by and hope you're all having the bestest Valentine's Day!!!

It's been that long!

Gosh, I didn't realize that I took a much longer blog break than I had intended. Actually, I've been lazy and just catching up on work. I made a card for Teri's swap that I'm in but I can't show it to you yet until my swap partner gets it. I also made this card the other day. This is foxy. Isn't he or she cute? I guess with a name like foxy, it must be a girl. I picked this Imaginisce stamp up from the store last Saturday along with some matching papers.
Supplies: Foxy stamp, Hero Arts circle woodgrain stamp, Spellbinders circle nesties, Sizzix Hello Kitty frame, Cuttlebug houndstooth folder, Hero Arts word stamp, Hero Arts flowers & gemstones, Lasting Impressions buttons, and lastly Memento markers from Tsukineko.
Last Saturday was quite a surprise at Jean's make and take at the store. Sweet Enjoli from the Big Island stopped in to shop and also do the make and take. She gave me this really cute Hello Kitty container filled with goodies.

Thank you Enjoli!!! It was so sweet of you! Well thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a fantastic Friday!
